William Saliba, the young French defender who recently signed for Marseille from Arsenal, has been involved in several injury setbacks this season.
The 19-year-old started his career with Nice before joining Arsenal as a youth player in 2017. However, he struggled to make a breakthrough and was eventually loaned out to Lens in January 2020.
In April 2020,La Liga Stadium Saliba joined Marseille on loan until the end of the season. He made his debut for the club in their 4-1 win over Caen in August, but he was forced off injured after just 25 minutes due to a knee problem.
Saliba's injury setback continued when he suffered a thigh muscle strain in his first game back for Marseille in September. The France U21 international then had another setback when he was forced off against Strasbourg in November with a calf injury.
Despite these injuries, Saliba remains a key part of the Marseille squad and is expected to play a crucial role in their bid for promotion to Ligue 1 next season. With his impressive performances for the French national team, it is clear that he will continue to be a valuable asset to the Marseille side.
